A Journey. Not A Victory.
"Step into one of humanity's oldest known games reimagined as a living augmented reality experience."
The Royal Game of Ur transforms the ancient board into a reflective journey through human life, memory, and connection. Players draw pieces from bowls of water representing a shared source beyond the board itself. As each drop touches the board, a stone traveler materializes and begins its path through chance, growth, attachment, consequence, and eventual release. Every match unfolds differently. When a life leaves the board — through capture or completion — a distant whisper may be overheard. These brief first-person reflections span thousands of years, from the cities of ancient Mesopotamia to the modern world. Some voices are connected across generations. Others intersect only through shared rivers, losses, prayers, and moments of understanding. No single playthrough reveals the full story. This is not a game about domination or conquest. It is a game about movement, reflection, consequence, and the realization that no life moves entirely alone.
